Larne knew that this was a must win game to keep them 3rd spot in the league and keep their sights on the top 2.
Larne lost the toss and were made to play into the blustery conditions. Larne started off well by retaining processing and attacking Coleraine in all areas of the pitch. Unfortunately not penetrating Coleraine defence.
The first score came from a great intercept by Larne's Gareth Rennix as he showed Coleraine his pace to go under the sticks. A.McBride got the extras. This was not to be Aaron Mcbride's best day from tee as the conditions proved difficult as he missed a few penalties in the first half.
Coleraine didn't lye down as they had the wind on their backs and started to pressure the Larne line with only minutes left on the clock. Larne players 1-15 tackled well and were refusing to let Coleraine score. A double hit from Cole and McKinty caused a knock on from Coleraine which brought the first half to an end.
Half time score 7-0.
Larne were very happy to come out of the first half on top and knew they dominated Coleraine. Larne started the second half the same as the first, attacking Coleraine, unfortunately a few forced passes not going to hand let Coleraine off the hook.
Larne's second try came from the powerhouse of Johnny McKinty when he picked off the back of the scrum and crashed over the line. Unconverted.
The final try was the best try of the game, it was a well run backs move that left Coleraine mind boggled. Which let fullback Ryan Gabbey place the ball down over the white wash. Unconverted.
The last 5 mins Coleraine had all the procession but Larne were not going the let Coleraine over. The thumping hits kept coming in - notability from Callum Oakley who made his presence known.
Full time score 17-0.
